Hats have always be an interest of Leela’s. Whether she’s traveling or shopping at local boutiques, she is always attracted to a unique hat to style up her look.
With a background in Couture sewing and design at Ecole Holt Couture in Calgary, Canada, she further developed her sewing skills and learned the art of fit and structure. Over the years, she explored making various accessories -more specifically couture neck wear and leather jewelry - learning very quickly that making accessories was something she loved.
When traveling in New York, Leela was on the search for a leather toque. Being unsuccessful at her mission, the idea of creating one began percolating, leading her to the launch her first capsule collection of leather toques in 2021.
As a creator in the fashion industry, Leela is committed to being conscience of her impact. She is creating a line of one-of-kind head wraps using off-cuts of leather from the toques. Launching Spring 2023.
